Common Andersen Window Repairs
Andersen is the window brand we see most across the northwest suburbs. The 400 Series — wood inside, low-maintenance vinyl cladding outside — went into thousands of homes built from the 1980s through the 2000s, alongside the 200 Series, the Fibrex-framed 100 Series and Renewal by Andersen windows.
Most Andersen windows we're called to aren't worn out; one part has failed. The repairs we do most are casement crank operators, fogged insulated glass, double-hung balances, gliding-window rollers, and rot at the bottom of wood sashes where it hides under the cladding.
Because many Andersen replacement parts — including sashes for some series — are still available, Andersen windows are among the most repairable on the market.

How to Tell If You Have Andersen Windows
- Bottom right-hand corner of the glass — viewed from inside. Andersen 100, 200, 400 and A-Series windows have the Andersen logo etched here, with the manufacturing date and glass type.
- Product ID label — Andersen has labeled its windows and patio doors since 2007 — check the sash edges and side jambs (Andersen's label guide shows the spot for each type).
- Hardware — sash locks, cranks and latches are often stamped with the Andersen name.
- Frame material — a frame that feels neither like wood nor vinyl may be Fibrex — used by Renewal by Andersen and the 100 Series.

If your Andersen windows are fairly new, check the manufacturer's warranty first — some glass and parts failures are covered. If the warranty has expired or doesn't cover the problem, we can repair it.
