Securing the opening is a small cost compared with the damage an open window can let in overnight — soaked flooring, drywall and insulation are far more expensive to fix than the glass itself.
If the break was caused by a storm, a break-in or vandalism, it may be covered by your homeowner's insurance. Take photos before anything is cleaned up, and ask us for a written invoice you can submit.
