About Local Window Service Inc
A local, residential window repair company that would rather fix your window than sell you a new one.
Local Window Service Inc is a residential window repair company — a local window contractor based in Lake in the Hills, Illinois. We fix windows instead of replacing them.
Our own technicians do every job — no subcontractors — and they've been doing this work for about ten years. The people who come out to look at your windows are the same people who come back to fix them, and we ask every customer for a review afterward, good or bad.
For more than seven years we've been repairing foggy glass, rotted sills and sashes, broken hardware, drafts and screens in homes across McHenry County and the surrounding area. Most of our customers call us after being told they need new windows. Most of the time, they don't.
A window is a set of parts — glass, sash, frame, sill, hardware, seals. When one part fails, the rest of the window is usually fine. Replacing the whole thing is expensive, disruptive, and throws away good wood and glass. Repairing the part that failed costs a fraction as much and keeps the window your house was built with.
How we work
- An honest answer first. If a window isn't worth repairing, we'll say so — even though it means no job for us.
- Price ranges up front. Send a photo and we'll tell you what's likely wrong and roughly what it costs before anyone visits.
- Real restoration, not patching. Rotted wood is cut out and replaced with matched wood, shaped to the original profile and painted to blend.
- We stand behind it. Three years on our woodwork, the manufacturer's 20-year warranty on glass units, and a redo if we install hardware wrong.
- Fully insured. Your home is protected while we work on it.
